Weber Point Pedestrian Bridges
Stockton, CA
The main span of the Fremont Channel bridge will be a 228-foot tubular steel arch, with spandrel columns canted in a sunburst pattern, supporting a concrete deck. The main span of the Stockton Channel bridge, will be a 124-foot tubular steel arch span also with a concrete deck. The alignment of the approach ramp on the town side of the Fremont Channel was left flexible so that it can adapt to the final site plan of the marina. The approach ramp on the Weber Point side will curl around to nest within the park's existing landscaping.
Mr. Gottemoeller developed the structural concepts and integrated them into the urban redevelopment and the park.
The city is now seeking funding for the final design and construction of these structures.
